In her moving TED Talk "The Danger of a Single Story," Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie states, "The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story."
Open Minds of Osijek, a creative writing workshop led by Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Lindsey Houchin, strives to cultivate and capture the many stories of eastern Croatia. Meeting each week at the American Corner in Osijek, the members of Open Minds bring a variety of experiences, perspectives, and stories to share across the table and--in time--across borders.
